How will I know when to replace my filter?
Filter longevity is dependent on the contamination on your water. Under typical conditions, the filter lasts for up to 150 gallons.
One of the things you may discover is that the filter starts running slower over time. That might seem like a bad thing, like the filter is not working. Actually, it’s the opposite. When a filter starts running more slowly, it’s because it has captured contaminants and is now fuller. It’s like a sponge that has been saturated with water. Once the filter has been working hard for a while, it may take longer for it to run through a cycle. So you can have peace of mind knowing that your filter is working hard for you, not goofing off on the job.
Can I flush out my filter and use it longer?
Your filter is designed to be used with up to 150 gallons of water. You may read reviews that say you can “flush it out” and keep using it. Although flushing the filter out may cause it to appear to be filtering longer, because water runs through it faster, it will not be removing all the toxins from the water.
Can this pitcher be used with well water?
This water pitcher is to be used with municipal potable water only. Do not use well water, ocean water or water from rivers or streams.
Does this filter remove the healthy minerals that are in water?
No, our filters are designed to take out only harmful contaminants, micro-organisms and heavy metals; and leave in the good-for-you trace minerals such as salt, potassium, phosphorous, calcium and magnesium.
Should I add minerals to my filtered water?
With our food supply carrying less minerals that it has in the past, it’s important to increase mineral intake when possible. Various options exist for increasing minerals in water. Click here to learn more.
Why is it important to filter water?
Filtration lessens the toxic overload most people are experiencing by removing chemicals such as chlorine, chloramines and fluoride added to water by water treatment companies, as well as chemicals added to the environment by industrial and agricultural activities.
Does this filter increase the energy of water?
No, it only gets rid of the physical contaminants on water. If you want to complement your water treatment, you can structure your water.
What structured water device can I use to complement my Best Water Pitcher Ever?
Any of our structuring devices can be used with the Best Water Pitcher Ever For more information about which structuring device is right for you, contact us.
Should I structure my water before or after the pitcher?
The Best Water Filter Ever will not unstructure your water. You can use a structuring device before or after the Best Water Pitcher Ever.
What about all the other contaminants that aren’t on the list? How do I know if it filters those as well?
It’s not practical to re-test the filter for every new contaminant created by industry. The Best Water Pitcher Ever has been laboratory tested and shown to be effective in the major areas of water contamination including aesthetics, chemicals, dissolved solids and even radiation. The filter is highly likely to remove new contaminants, just like the ones that have already been specifically tested.
Does the pitcher remove bacteria, viruses and pathogens from water?
Giardia, cryptosporidium, e coli and other bacteria, viruses and pathogens are part of a category of contamination called biologics, which is not removed by our pitcher. If you are concerned about biological contamination that is typically only necessary with water main breaks, consider a filter that removes biologics like the Multipure Aqualuxe.
How safe is the plastic the pitcher is made out of?
Our products are non- BPA leaching plastic. BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are often used in containers that store food and beverages, such as water bottles. They may also be used in other consumer goods. Epoxy resins are used to coat the inside of metal products, such as food cans, bottle tops and water supply lines

Limescale is minerals which are smaller than the size the filter removes. It does not remove limescale.

Question
Jennifer –
How will I know when the filter needs to be replaced? And when I order the pitcher does a filter come with it or do I need to order one separately?

Patrick (verified owner) –
The Best Water Pitcher Ever comes with a filter. The filter lasts up to 150 gallons and the actual amount depends on how much it has to remove from your water. A good rule of thumb is to approximate the amount of water you drink. If for example, you drink a gallon a day it will last for approximately 150 days or two gallons a day 75 days. Make a note on your calendar and be observant as the end of the filter life approaches. As it nears the end of its effectiveness it will either begin to pass chlorine through which you will smell / taste or it will change markedly in flow such that no water can pass through anymore because the filter is fully clogged.

Lori Reinke –
Water comes out of places besides the pouring spout and spills everywhere. What can I do to prevent this? Thanks in advance.

The design is for you to fill the pitcher up until the water touches the bottom of the white reservoir. When you stop filling at that level, it will never spill.

Does the Best Water Pitcher remove giardia, cryptosporidium? & can it only be used with tap water? In other words, in emergencies can you use rainwater or creek water?

The Best Water Pitcher Ever uses a chemistry based process to remove toxins. The Aqua Energizer uses a physics based process to structure water. The pitcher is for filtering contaminants, not for structuring.

No. The type of contamination you are asking about is what we refer to as ‘B’ or Biological contamination. It is for living bacteria and what not. What you could do is remove the water from the stream and boil it to kill the living components of the water and then filter it to remove the toxins. That would work.

I couldn’t be happier with this pitcher…I tried another, but it was too bulky to fit in my fridge, and this one fits perfectly. The way you fill it is ingenious. It’s so easy to use. I was concerned about priming the filter properly (my faucets are flared, not the standard size) so I contacted support, and they sent me a charming video that explained the principles so I was able to do it easily. Most of all, the water tastes amazing, and I have the confidence of knowing that the nasty stuff is being filtered out. One of the best purchases I have ever made!

I love the way this pitcher fits in my refrigerator and refills so easily and quickly, as well as the clean, fresh taste of my water. I feel safe knowing that contaminants have been removed including potential radiation, without stripping out the minerals my body needs. The filter seems to last longer than others I’ve used as well. I’ve been searching for a long time for a quality filter that actually works, it’s great to finally find it!

Some things are our home favorites. The pitcher and the Aqua Energizer Portable are two of my favorite things at home. One of the things I love the most is how long the filter lasts. I live in SoCal and the tap water just tastes ugly. I know I need a replacement once the water begins to have a weird taste. We are 4 at home drinking maybe 2 full tanks of the pitcher a day and still, each filter lasts for more than 6 months. If like me, you like to combine filtration with structuring, this pitcher is something you won’t regret!
