If you are optimally hydrated, you will feel like a million bucks! That’s the message from Gina Bria, who is on a mission to teach the world how you can be optimally hydrated and what this means for how you look, feel, and live. She is the founder of The Hydration Foundation and with Dr. Dana Cohen she just co-authored the book Quench: Beat Fatigue, Drop Weight, and Heal Your Body through the New Science of Optimal Hydration. She was also recently featured in a question and answer article in Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Magazine and an article in The New York Times. Soon, you will also be reading about Gina’s recipe for hydration in Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine!
Gina’s ingredients for optimal hydration are: food, movement, and water. By food, she means fresh food, such as watermelon, pears, and even cauliflower, which is 98% water. In regards to movement, it includes specific micro-movements to get water moving through our tissues to flush out toxins and bring energy and life to heal our cells.
And for water, Gina points out that by molecular count, our bodies are 99% water. We need water to live. But there are different kinds of water. Water from a tap or bottle is stale and still. In Quench, we learn that drinking eight glasses of water a day is not the way because we are simply drowning in stale water and flushing out nutrients and electrolytes that our bodies so desperately need. Electrolytes are energy – think of them as batteries. So we are flushing out energy with lifeless water.
On the other hand, water that becomes charged by molecular restructuring builds vital energy in our bodies. This life supporting water optimally hydrates us, giving our bodies more energy, helping us lose unwanted weight, and healing us from within. This charged water can lead to higher cognitive capacities and perhaps even thoughts that meaningfully contribute to our world. This water is called crystalline or structured water. It is also known as Exclusion Zone (EZ) water and as H3O2. It is water in motion with energy. It is living water.
Structured water occurs naturally in gushing mountain streams and flowing springs. It can also be produced by devices such as those from Natural Action Water and Jivara. Water flows through these devices in ever accelerating vortices, creating structured water for us to drink, wherever we are.
